If you have been feeling stressed and depressed with your lifestyle, or if you want to free your mind of all worries and live in harmony with everything around you, here’s a miracle touch to put an end to all your mental and physical ailments.
Have you ever wished to heal yourself or others with your hands?
If yes, Reiki is for you. Rei means ‘God’s wisdom or the Higher power” and Ki means ‘life force energy’. So, Reiki is actually ‘spiritually guided life force energy.’
Reiki is a Japanese technique that can be used not only for stress reduction but also to treat your physical and mental ailments. Reiki, a spiritual practice was developed in 1922 by Dr. Mikao Usui. It is administered by ‘laying on hands’, which is believed to channel ‘healing energy’ through the practioner’s palms.
It is a simple and safe method of self-improvement and spiritual healing that can be used by anyone. It also works with medical or therapeutic techniques and helps in relieving side effects and promoting recovery.
How do you become a healer?
An extremely simple technique to learn, Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student. This ability to heal is passed on during an ‘attunement’ given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap unlimited ‘life force energy’ for one’s mental and physical well-being.
There are different levels in learning Reiki. In the first level, one is taught the basic theories and procedures. The master makes you a channel, through ‘attunement’. When treating a specific ailment, there are certain points where more energy is required to be given. For example, a patient suffering from asthma should be given Reiki at his heart chakra and lungs. Having completed the first level, the participant can treat himself and others with Reiki. Typically the duration of the first level is two days which can also vary.
In the second level, the student learns the use of three Japanese symbols and the ‘mantras’ that go with them. They intensify the strength and distance over which the effect can be extended. Having completed the second level, the student can work without being physically present with the recipient.
At the third level, the student becomes a Reiki master. Further attunements are given and the student learns master level symbols and can now attune other people to Reiki. This level focuses on personal and spiritual growth. Depending on the school and philosophy of the master giving training, the duration of the third level can be anything from a day to a year or more.
How can Reiki help you?
Reiki can help you in balancing energy, releasing emotions, reducing stress and curing diseases. So, once you have learnt the technique, remember that anytime you touch someone or something, life force energy turns on. What’s more – you can treat not just yourself, but your family members and friends or anyone who asks for it. And don’t forget pets, animals and plants as Reiki works for them too!
Reiki heals by balancing the chakras of the body; namely the root chakra, sacral or splenic chakra, solar plexus chakra, heart chakra, throat chakra, third eye chakra and crown chakra. What is most important to let Reiki work on you and others is to have faith in the technique as your body reacts the way your mind accepts or rejects things.
Personally speaking Reiki has helped in my spiritual growth, transformed my life and taken it to a new direction. I’ve become a channel for healing others and have been doing more good to the society. It has also helped me develop a more forgiving nature.
It is not only adults, but also women and children below the age of ten who have learnt Reiki from me. It is extremely helpful for pregnant women during delivery as Reiki makes it almost painless and has also been of help in combating infertility.
So, use your hands to heal yourself and others – your touch may lead to miracles!
